THRUSH HERMIT

Fredericton Playhouse - Sept 25

'Clayton Park' 20th Anniversary

In 1999, Halifax rock band Thrush Hermit released their final album, Clayton Park. Well-regarded upon release for its ambitious alchemy of anthemic hooks and 70s-inspired riffage, the album has since gained a reputation as a classic of its era.

To celebrate Clayton Park’s twenty-year anniversary, the album will be issued on Record Store Day for the first time as a gatefold double-vinyl package via New Scotland Records.

Coinciding with this release, original members Rob Benvie, Cliff Gibb, Ian McGettigan, and Joel Plaskett will be briefly reforming for a limited run of shows in Fall 2019. For a band renowned for its raucous live performances, the anniversary is an occasion of both nostalgic reminiscence and excitement in rekindling its formidable rock power one more time.

“My forearms feel very limber,” McGettigan says. “Oh so very limber.”
