"Since playing Istanbul Mehmet Cymbals, I've wanted to turn up the overhead mics in my in-ear mix for the first time in my career simply because these cymbals are just so pleasing to my ears. They're warm, expressive, dynamic and musical. Up until discovering these cymbals, I just expected cymbals to be harsh and abrasive.. Not anymore. I truly believe that these instruments have enhanced my musical maturity.."
In a world full of touring musicians, session players, and weekend warriors, Ben Bradley has certainly risen to the top of the Canadian Country music scene. At 31 years old, Bradley, originally from St. Albert, Alberta, who now lives in the heart of Alberta cattle country – Brooks, Alberta, with his beautiful wife, Cassie, and their young daughter, Emerly Marie. Currently on tour with Warner Music’s country superstar Brett Kissel, (JUNO and Multiple CCMA Award winner), Bradley offers something that few others bring to the stage, according to Kissel.
“Working with so many of the world’s elite musicians, I have not come across anyone quite like Ben Bradley. He brings a special energy to our live show and our recordings, and I’m so blessed to have him onstage with me every night!” – Brett Kissel
Touring with Kissel as support for global country superstar Brad Paisley in 2015 from the northern States, all throughout Canada and even up into Alaska was definitely one for the books. Performing in front of more than 600,000 people that summer alone as part of Brett Kissel’s summer tour, (which included tour stops at Dauphin’s Country Fest, the Calgary Stampede, the Havelock Country Jamboree, Toronto’s CNE, and Vancouver’s PNE). Later that year Bradley joined Kissel and the boys for their first authentic coast to coast Canadian tour visiting every province and territory. The success of the 2015/2016 “Airwaves Tour” lead to another coast to coast tour the following year which was called “Ice Snow and 30 Below Tour”. In the summer of 2017, the latest Kissel album was recorded, which Ben tracked drums on. This album will be then promoted/toured across Canada in early 2018 in the biggest tour the Kissel band has encountered to date with approximately 80 dates across Canada.
Rewind back a few years to September of 2013, Bradley was honoured by his peers in the Canadian country music scene with his first win for “Drummer of the Year”. At just 27 years old, he was the youngest ever winner for Drummer of the Year at the CCMA’s.
Bradley has also performed on many television programs for CMT, CBC, CTV, and Global, including multiple performances on the Canadian Country Music Awards live broadcast on CBC, that brings in over 1 million viewers each year for the annual awards program.
When Bradley is not touring with Kissel across Canada and the United States, his busy freelance career kicks in.
